Our story
We are a food technology company that has made the most significant breakthrough in food preservation in 160 years.
TAPS Global began in a kitchen, not a laboratory. Our founders were making real food - cooked from scratch, meant to nourish - and running into the same wall everyone in food eventually hits: it does not last long enough to reach everyone who needs it.
You can freeze it and lose the texture. You can can it and lose the taste. You can preserve it and lose the label. For 160 years, those were the only options, and every one of them asked the food to give something up.
So we went looking for a fourth answer, and found it visible in plain sight - leveraging turmeric, a spice that has been quietly doing this work in kitchens for thousands of years. Ten years of research, over $2.5 million of the founders' own money, a granted US patent, an NSF research award, and independent labs later, food made with TAPS™ came out of a refrigerator at day 500 tasting like day one.
Today we are a licensing company by design. We build no factories. We provide our science to the people who already make, move and process the world's food, so the change happens on the lines that already exist - and reaches people faster.
What we believe
Four commitments we hold ourselves to
Honesty about the boundary
We say what is proven and what is not. Our results are under refrigerated cold chain, and we do not claim shelf-stable today.
Food first, science second
If a technology changes how food tastes, it has failed. Every decision is judged at the table.
Build on what exists
We do not ask anyone to replace their plant. The installed base of equipment is our route to scale.
Feed people who get missed
Patients, students, families, and people in crisis are not an afterthought market. They are why the work matters.
